Shop Photos
It's no big secret that the two major keys to a smooth running, successful, and more over functional shop is knowledge and tools. It's easy for anyone to get an FFL, hang out their shingle, and sign on to the internet proclaiming to be a "gunsmith" or the latest and greatest wizard of the "tactical" 1911... but for us we take building these customs very seriously. The know-how to get the job done and knowledge of the guns, and not just a cursory knowledge either but rather an in depth and true understanding of how the gun is supposed to function as well as what makes for a long-term durable 1911, is the foundation that our guns are built on. What you'll see in these pictures is a view of the second necessary component, the tools.
Sure one may be able to piece together a 1911 without a mill, lathe, surface grinder, and not to mention the various assortment of files, fixtures, cutters, and the like... but vested in the construction of a true custom 1911 is a well equipped shop. And we at Heirloom Precision thought it only right to give you, the customer, a view into the area where your gun will be labored over and perfected so that you may rest comfortably knowing that it was done right the first time. Enjoy...
